Melissa received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in August of 2009. She completed her internship working with persons with severe mental illnesses. D uring her graduate career, she completed a thesis study entitled, “Engaging Latinos into therapy: A lingual focus,” which allowed her to learn more about providing therapy to diverse populations. She presented her research at the National Council of Family Relations Conference in 2008 and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Conference in 2008 and 2009. Upon graduation, Melissa was excited to begin her professional development by accepting a position as Program Therapist with DSN. At the ETGH M Court location, she is providing therapy to the ETGH youth and their families.
