 Laurie ChisholmLock began working for DSN in March 2003. As the Director of Vocational Services, she feels it is necessary to consider all aspects of a person's life in order to determine the best employment or vocational training plan. Laurie supervises the Vocational Managers, Job Procurement Specialists and Vocational Mentors in Lincoln and in Omaha. Laurie has 27 years of experience in the developmental disabilities field. Her career began at the former Lancaster Office of Mental Retardation with the Child Development Center. She later coordinated day services for LOMR working with adults in the sheltered workshops; community enclaves, mobile crews, workstations in industry, and competitive employment. For the past six years Laurie has worked for Nebraska Health and Human Services as a Service Coordinator. Laurie is also an ex-officio member of the Lancaster Foundation of Mental Retardation. The foundation board was developed to enhance the quality of life for persons with mental retardation in Lancaster County, by raising funds and aiding individuals and organizations whose needs cannot be met through other funding sources. |
